Wavytalk Review: Steam Straighteners, Thermal Brushes, and Multi-Style Hair Tools

Wavytalk reviews

Wavytalk is a beauty brand that focuses on hair-styling tools and at-home beauty devices, helping you receive salon-quality results at home. Hair styling is its main category, covering hair straighteners, straightening brushes, thermal brushes, and tools for creating smooth finishes and frizz-controlled styles. It features a Steam Team collection that includes Steamlift Pro, Steamline Pro, and Steam Sesh. The range is designed for curly, coily, textured, dry, and color-treated hair.

As per the official website, its Steam Team uses its proprietary STEAMIQ™ technology, which generates ultra-fine steam during styling. The brand says this helps maintain moisture, reduce frizz and heat stress, and leave hair looking smoother and shinier. It also offers beauty devices for other personal-care needs. These include the Bare It IPL Hair Removal device, the Glow Time LED Therapy Mask, and the Sculpt Time Microcurrent Facial Device.

  2. Beauty Tools

Beauty Tools focus on at-home skincare, facial rejuvenation, and hair removal. The collection includes Glow Time Red Light Therapy Mask, which uses LED light therapy to support skin health and improve the appearance of skin tone, texture, and fine lines over time.

The lineup offers the Bare It IPL Hair Removal Device and Bare It Without Roller IPL Hair Removal under this range. IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, delivers pulses of broad-spectrum light that are absorbed by pigment in the hair, helping reduce hair growth over repeated procedures.

The range also features the Sculpt Time Microcurrent Facial Device, designed to use low-level electrical currents to support a temporarily lifted and toned facial appearance. You will also find the Radiant Skin Duo, which combines the Glow Time LED Therapy Mask and Bare It IPL Hair Removal Device for a more comprehensive at-home beauty routine.

  3. Hair Care

You will find Smooth Barrier Heat Protectant Spray in the brand’s haircare range, which helps shield hair from temperatures up to 450°F while locking in moisture. It complements the brand’s heat-styling tools by helping protect strands during straightening, curling, and blow-drying.

The formula features lupin protein, which could help condition hair, improve its feel, and support a smoother appearance. Carob fruit extract is added to help condition and soften strands, enhancing manageability.

  4. Accessories

The accessories feature practical hair-styling and grooming essentials designed to complement its hair tools and simplify everyday hair care. The range includes Alligator Hair Clips, which help section and secure hair during styling.

You will also get the Folding Mirror Brush, which combines a brush with a foldable mirror for convenient grooming and touch-ups on the go. The Detangling Brush is designed to help remove knots and tangles, improve hair manageability, and make brushing easier.

Wavytalk Advantages

  1. Cross-Category Beauty Portfolio

Wavytalk offers more than just hair-styling tools. Its range includes thermal brushes, hair straighteners, curling irons, crimping irons, hair dryers, hot-air brushes, multi-attachment air stylers, styling sets, heat-protectant sprays, and hair accessories.

The brand also extends into skincare with products such as LED light-therapy masks, IPL hair-removal devices, and microcurrent facial devices. It targets different aspects of at-home beauty and personal care.

You can explore products for your hair-styling and skincare routines in one place, making it easier to find options that suit your needs without having to browse several different brand websites.

  2. Multi-Functional Tool Engineering

Wavytalk offers multi-functional styling tools that combine several styling options within a single device or set. For example, the official website features the 5-in-1 Curling Wand Set, which includes five interchangeable styling attachments, and the Whirlwind Curl, a 2-in-1 airflow styler designed for both curling and straightening. Its Steam Sesh also supports straightening, curling, and flipping the ends of your hair using one tool. This approach allows you to create different hairstyles without needing a separate appliance for every styling technique. You can save storage space by keeping fewer standalone devices in your dressing area and simplify your styling routine with fewer tools to manage.

Wavytalk Limitation

  1. Limited Product Differentiation

Wavytalk’s product range includes several styling tools with overlapping functions, making the differences between certain models less distinct. For example, its Blowout Boost 1.5-inch and Blowout Boost Grande 1.75-inch thermal brushes primarily differ in barrel size, while its curling range includes both individual curling irons and multi-attachment sets. Although these variations target different styling preferences, similar functions and product descriptions may make it difficult to distinguish the specific purpose of each model.

You may need to spend additional time comparing barrel sizes, attachments, temperature settings, and intended styling results to identify the tool best suited to your hair type and routine. Overlapping features may also make it harder to determine whether a more specialised model offers enough additional functionality to justify its price.

Wavytalk Alternatives

  1. Drybar

Drybar builds its offering around the salon-style blowout, with dedicated tools and complementary hair-care products. Meanwhile, Wavytalk puts more emphasis on multifunctional styling devices and technology such as steam-based heat styling. These differences are most apparent when comparing their blow-dryers, styling tools, and wider hair-care collections.

Drybar offers a focused lineup that includes the Buttercup Blow-Dryer, Reserve Ultralight Anti-Frizz Blow-Dryer, and Single Shot Round Blow-Dryer Brush. These options help address drying, smoothing, adding volume, and creating a rounded finish. Wavytalk covers similar needs with its Blowout Boost Ionic Thermal Brush, while placing greater emphasis on devices that combine several styling functions.

The difference can also be seen in their straightening and curling range. Drybar offers dedicated options such as the Tress Press Straightening Iron, Reserve Dual-Plate Styling Iron, and Wrap Party Curling & Styling Wand. Its Mixologist Interchangeable Styling Iron also helps if you want different styling attachments within one system. Wavytalk’s lineup includes the Steamline Pro Steam Straightener Brush, Steam Sesh Steam Hair Straightener, alongside the Multi Curl 5-in-1.

As per its official website, Wavytalk highlights its STEAMIQ™ technology, which uses ultra-fine steam and may help reduce heat stress and improve the appearance of softness and shine. Meanwhile, Drybar’s product range places more emphasis on the finished style and supporting the blowout process through its selection of dryers, brushes, irons, and heat-protection products.

Their hair care range also highlights clear differences between the brands. Drybar offers products across shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, detangling, and heat protection. You will get Detox Dry Shampoo and Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler. Collections such as Liquid Glass, Big Brew, and Blowout Defense extend the range beyond styling equipment. Wavytalk’s available variety is much more concentrated on electrical tools, with only Smooth Barrier Heat Protectant Spray complementing its devices.

As per their official website, Drybar focuses on providing a consistent blowout routine supported by complementary hair-care products. Wavytalk lets you explore different styles with versatile tools.

  2. L’ANGE

L’ANGE combines styling products with a broad range of shampoos, conditioners, and scalp care, making it possible to build a routine around specific hair concerns. Wavytalk puts more emphasis on the tools used to create a finished look. You will get options like steam straighteners, thermal brushes, multifunctional air stylers, and curling sets.

L’ANGE addresses frizz control through Glass Hair Anti-Frizz Thermal Blowout Primer and Gloss Shock Anti-Frizz Hair Repair Treatment. These give you different ways to prepare, smooth, and treat your hair. Wavytalk takes a more device-led approach with the Steamline Pro Steam Straightener Brush and Steamlift Pro Steam Thermal Brush. Its STEAMIQ™ technology uses ultra-fine steam during styling, which the brand says helps maintain moisture and reduce heat stress.

The same contrast also appears in how the brands approach volume. L’ANGE’s range has Whip Volumizing Mousse for lift, while Full Grit Volumizing Dry Texture Spray adds texture and Selecte Thick It Cream offers another styling format. Wavytalk instead provides the Blowout Boost thermal brushes and Airshape Pro air-styler sets, which are designed around shaping hair and creating blowout-style looks.

Where L’ANGE pulls further ahead in range is everyday hair maintenance. Its Ms. Bond shampoo, conditioner, and strengthening serum sit alongside Hydro Therapy 7 Second Instant Repair Treatment. The Happy Roots collection adds pre- and post-cleanse products, plus Scalp Calm, Hydrating, and Oil Control serums. Wavytalk’s catalogue does not show a comparable selection of scalp-care products, focusing instead on styling devices.

Wavytalk does, however, extend its device range beyond conventional hair styling. Alongside straighteners, thermal brushes, curling tools, hair dryers, and hot-air brushes, it lists IPL hair-removal devices, an LED Light Therapy Mask, and a Microcurrent Facial Device. L’ANGE also categorises tools and accessories on its website, but it does not feature skincare devices.

As per their websites, L’ANGE covers more of the products used to care for and maintain hair, while Wavytalk focuses on styling tools and extends into beauty devices.

How Did We Evaluate?

  1. Brand Reputation

Wavytalk operates in the beauty and personal-care appliance market, offering products such as hair dryers, curling tools, heated brushes, and hair straighteners.

On Trustpilot, the brand has received a rating of 3.9 based on more than 120 reviews. Some customers expressed dissatisfaction with products that failed to hold curls, developed damaged bristles, or stopped working after a relatively short period. Many reported receiving their orders quickly, while others described prolonged shipping delays, missing options, incorrect deliveries, and orders that remained unfulfilled for weeks or months.

We also noticed that several customers described unanswered emails, repeated generic responses, and frustration when seeking refunds or replacements. Based on our evaluation, the brand appears to be an established brand with a genuine market presence. However, we believe that it would benefit from clearer evidence of consistent customer support and dependable after-sales service.

  2. Real User Experiences

To evaluate Wavytalk, we analyzed customer reviews on Amazon of three of its products. The brand’s Steam Hair Straightener (Steam Sesh) has received a 4.3 rating based on more than 2,000 reviews. Several customers with curly, wavy, thick, or frizzy hair reported that the straightener left their hair feeling silky, smooth, and shiny. Users also highlighted its effectiveness in humid conditions, with some reporting that their hair remained straight for longer than it did with traditional flat irons. However, some raised concerns about the durability of the comb attachment, the heat generated during use, and the need to refill the water reservoir.

The 5-in-1 Curling Iron with Thermal Brush holds a 4.4 rating based on more than 11,000 reviews. Customers praised its interchangeable attachments, rapid heating, adjustable temperature settings, and ability to create a range of hairstyles. Several reported that their curls lasted longer than those created with other styling tools. Meanwhile, certain users found that the thermal brush became too hot, even at lower settings, and reported concerns about possible hair damage, particularly for fine or color-treated hair.

Its Smooth Barrier Heat Protectant Spray has received a 4.6 rating based on more than 300 reviews. Customers frequently praised its pleasant fragrance and its ability to leave hair soft, shiny, smooth, and manageable without making it feel greasy or sticky. Several also reported improvements in frizz control, including when exposed to humidity or light rain. However, one user explained that although they liked its fragrance, they had not noticed particularly impressive styling results or a clear benefit from its heat protection after a week of daily use.

After reviewing these customer reviews, we believe the brand offers good value for money with effective hair care and styling products. However, it could improve product safety and durability, especially by adding automatic shut-off features and making attachments more durable. You should consider your hair type, each product’s limitations, and proper heat-safety precautions before buying.

Conclusion

Wavytalk offers a wide selection of hair-styling tools, from steam straighteners and thermal brushes to multifunctional curling sets and at-home beauty devices. Its versatile designs make it easier to create different hairstyles without investing in multiple separate tools.

However, overlapping product features can make it difficult to choose the right model, while customer reports of durability problems and shipping delays raise concerns about the overall buying experience. Its steam technology also does not eliminate the risk of heat damage.

To protect your hair when using the brand’s styling tools, use flat irons only on completely dry hair, select the lowest effective temperature, and avoid repeatedly passing over the same section. Differences in product performance, the need for careful handling, and the importance of checking warranty terms and independent reviews may affect your experience.
