OneSkin Review: Peptide Technology and Cellular Aging Approach

OneSkin is a skincare brand that uses biotechnology in everyday skincare. Its formulations focus on improving skin barrier function, boosting collagen support, and enhancing cellular renewal.

The brand’s product range includes moisturizers, eye creams, cleansers, sunscreens, body care products, and hair and lip care options. The company states that many of its products provide multi-functional benefits like hydration, repair, and protection.

This review examines the core product offerings of One Skin and compares the brand to similar alternatives. It also evaluates the brand’s advantages along with potential limitations.

About One Skin

OneSkin was founded in 2016  by Carolina Reis Oliveira, alongside co-founders Alessandra Zonari, Mariana Boroni, and Juliana Carvalho.

The brand highlights the use of its proprietary OS-01 peptide, which it claims reduces cellular senescence. Cellular senescence refers to the accumulation of dysfunctional cells that release inflammatory signals and accelerate visible aging.

The company offers a focused product portfolio built around peptide technology. Core products include the OS-01 Face Moisturizer, OS-01 Body Moisturizer, and OS-01 Lip Shield SPF 15+, along with bundled options.

OneSkin also emphasizes ethical and safety standards, stating that it is cruelty-free and recognized by organizations such as the National Eczema Association.

One Skin Review

One Skin Offerings

  1. OS-01 Body Moisturizer

The OS-01 Body Moisturizer is formulated to improve skin hydration, texture, and the appearance of thinning skin while supporting barrier function.

Its formulation includes a decapeptide, which may play a role in influencing cellular aging processes within the skin. Niacinamide is also present to strengthen the skin barrier while supporting a more even skin tone. Sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer functions as a longer-lasting form of hyaluronic acid, helping to retain moisture within the skin over time.

The product formula also consists of saccharide isomerate, which may support the skin microbiome, and tremella mushroom extract, known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These components together contribute to hydration, skin balance, and skin resilience.

  2. Face + Lip Duo

The Face + Lip Duo is a combined skincare set made to support hydration, barrier function, and visible elasticity across both facial skin and lips through the use of the OS-01 Face Moisturizer and OS-01 Lip Shield SPF 15+ Bare Blush.

The moisturizer contains sodium hyaluronate, which may provide hydration by binding water within the outer layers of the skin. It also includes niacinamide, which may help support barrier integrity and improve skin tone.

The OS-01 Lip Shield SPF 15+ Bare Blush features zinc oxide at 5.5% as its active mineral sunscreen ingredient, which may help protect the lips from UV exposure by reflecting ultraviolet radiation.

  3. OS-01 Face Moisturizer

The OS-01 Face Moisturizer can improve skin hydration, firmness, and appearance while supporting barrier function and visible elasticity. It contains hyaluronic acid, which may help bind water at different levels of the skin surface, contributing to a more plump and hydrated look. According to the brand, the formulation combines moisture retention with barrier support, along with peptide-based targeting of visible aging concerns.

  4. Face, Eye + Lip Trio

As per the official site, the Face, Eye + Lip Trio supports hydration, barrier resilience, and elasticity across the face, eye area, and lips. It includes OS-01 Face Moisturizer, OS-01 Eye Cream, and OS-01 Lip Shield SPF 15+ Bare Blush. The trio is positioned as a comprehensive routine for areas frequently exposed to environmental stress, with claims that it improves radiance, firmness, and skin condition while also providing sun protection for the lips.

  5. OS-01 Lip Shield SPF 15+

OS-01 Lip Shield SPF 15+ is intended to provide UV protection, hydration, and support for long-term lip skin resilience.

The formulation includes zinc oxide at 5.5% as the active sunscreen ingredient, which helps protect the lips by reflecting and scattering ultraviolet radiation. This type of mineral filter is commonly used for broad-spectrum UV defense and may contribute to reducing the effects of sun exposure on lip skin.

The makers have also added jojoba seed oil to help soften the lips and form a protective barrier that reduces moisture loss. The product also contains tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, which may help limit oxidative stress caused by environmental exposure.

  6. OS-01 Hair Scalp Serum

OS-01 Hair Scalp Serum is created to support thicker-looking hair while improving scalp condition and hair appearance. The formulation includes sodium PCA as a moisture-binding and conditioning agent that may help support scalp hydration and reduce dryness. It also contains cellulose gum and polyquaternium-11, which may help improve spreadability and create a lightweight, non-greasy finish on the scalp.

The makers have also added panax ginseng root extract to support scalp vitality and protect against environmental stressors. Fisetin is included as an antioxidant that contributes to reducing oxidative stress within the scalp environment. Rice bran water is also present and could help condition the hair and improve manageability and shine.

  7. OS-01 Eye Cream

OS-01 Eye Cream could improve hydration, firmness, elasticity, and the appearance of fine lines in the delicate eye area. The formulation contains squalane, which may help soften the skin and support the barrier by reducing moisture loss. Sorbitan olivate and cetearyl olivate function as emulsifiers that help blend oil- and water-based components, while cetyl palmitate contributes to a smoother texture and improved spreadability.

According to the official website, the product also consists of moringa oleifera seed extract and algae extract. These ingredients contribute to protecting the skin from pollutants and improving the appearance of dark circles and uneven tone. Coffee seed extract is also included, which helps reduce the appearance of puffiness through its stimulating properties.

  8. OS-01 Lip Mask

The OS-01 Lip Mask is created to provide deep hydration, improve smoothness, and support a fuller-looking lip appearance. Its formulation includes candelilla wax and sunflower seed derivatives, which help give the product structure and stability while allowing it to adhere effectively to the lips. Tamarind seed polysaccharide is also included and may support moisture retention through its film-forming properties, helping maintain hydration over time.

The product also contains panthenol and allantoin as soothing agents, which may help improve comfort and reduce dryness or irritation with regular use.

  9. Best Seller Set

Best Seller Set is a two-product skincare system that includes the OS-01 Face Moisturizer and OS-01 Eye Cream.

The OS-01 Face Moisturizer functions as a daily hydrating product that may help the skin barrier and improve skin appearance through a combination of humectants, plant-derived oils, and peptide-based components.

The OS-01 Eye Cream complements the moisturizer by focusing on the thinner skin around the eyes, where ingredients such as peptides and antioxidants help manage the appearance of fine lines, texture, and hydration.

One Skin Advantages

  1. Clinical advisory credibility network

OneSkin states that it works with a network of named, board-certified dermatologists who provide clinical and research expertise. It mentions Suneel Chilukuri, Carolyn Jacob, and Joely Kaufman as advisors, contributing clinical, academic, and research experience, including involvement in clinical trials, dermatology practice, publications, and physician training. The brand describes this network as a structure connecting its internal research with external clinical expertise. This can translate into product development and positioning that are informed by clinicians who actively conduct research, which may improve alignment between product use and real-world dermatological considerations such as skin sensitivity, compatibility, and observed outcomes.

  2. Vertically integrated research infrastructure

OneSkin states that its product development is conducted through an internal R&D system that includes discovery, validation, measurement, and commercialization. It reports screening more than 900 peptides before identifying the OS-01 peptide as its lead compound, describing this as part of its internal discovery process. The brand shares lab studies on human skin samples, cellular models, and biomarkers, along with third-party clinical trials comparing formulations with and without the OS-01 peptide. It uses proprietary analytical tools such as MolClock, described as a biological age modeling system based on biomarker and epigenetic data, to measure changes in skin. The same peptide (OS-01) is used across multiple product formats, including face, body, eye, and hair, to maintain consistency between research and product formulations. The brand links this system with research, testing, measurement, and product development within a single internal framework.

One Skin Limitation

  1. Information Depth and Accessibility Trade-Off

OneSkin communicates through technical, research-oriented frameworks and terminology that are not widely standardized across the skincare category. It relies on internally defined systems and proprietary models to structure its brand narrative and claims. This can make the brand less immediately interpretable, requiring greater effort to understand positioning and evaluate relevance. It can also increase reliance on the brand’s own explanations and educational materials, since its frameworks and terminology are not always directly comparable with other brands or commonly understood ingredients. This creates a trade-off where higher information depth is paired with lower accessibility, requiring more effort to evaluate relevance, expected outcomes, and differentiation.

One Skin Alternatives

  1. Annmarie Skin

Annmarie Skin Care and OneSkin both follow distinct approaches to skincare and move away from traditional cosmetic positioning. However, they have nuances in their range of offerings, positioning, approaches to personalization, and accessibility.

In terms of formulation standards, Annmarie Skin Care relies heavily on plant-based ingredients, botanical infusions, and oils, using processes like its Energized Botanical Infusion method and avoiding a wide range of synthetic additives. OneSkin, meanwhile, focuses on a single engineered peptide (OS-01) intended to influence cellular aging pathways, supported by lab-based testing, peptide screening, and computational modeling.

The range of products represents another point of difference. Annmarie offers a wide and diversified catalog across cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, masks, and even makeup and aromatherapy-style products. Some signature offerings include Citrus Mint Cleanser, Anti-Aging Facial Oil, Botanical Lactic Toner, and Rose Hydrosol. These offerings reflect a multi-step, collection-based system that you may customize depending on skin type and preference. Meanwhile, OneSkin maintains a focused lineup built around its OS-01 peptide technology, including products in its OS-01 series, including Face Moisturizer, Eye Cream, and Lip Shield SPF 15+. This could create a simplified routine structure rather than a highly customizable, multi-product ecosystem.

Personalization approaches also differ. Annmarie Skin Care pairs automated tools like skin quizzes with access to licensed estheticians for free consultations, creating a hybrid personalization model that is both guided and flexible. Meanwhile, OneSkin claims to minimize the need for personalization by offering a simplified system built around a single core technology, assuming a more universal approach to addressing aging at the cellular level.

Sustainability and packaging philosophies show some overlap, but with different emphasis. Annmarie Skin Care places a strong focus on sustainability through detailed reporting, reduced plastic use, and eco-conscious sourcing practices. Meanwhile, OneSkin also integrates elements like refillable packaging and recyclable materials, but sustainability is secondary to its scientific positioning.

Annmarie Skin highlights commitment to clean ingredients, customization, and holistic skincare philosophy. Meanwhile, OneSkin reflects a biotechnology-driven approach, streamlined routines, and focuses on cellular aging mechanisms.

  2. Alitura

When comparing Alitura and OneSkin, both brands offer various skincare formulas to target diverse skincare needs. However, the brands differ in their formulation standards, breadth of offerings, quality control standards, and pricing structures.

The core philosophy behind each brand separates them. Alitura focuses on ingredient diversity and layered formulations to support visible skin quality through the combined effects of multiple components, including L-ascorbic acid, Rhassoul clay, American ginseng, organic spirulina, ashwagandha, and GHK-Cu. Meanwhile, OneSkin builds its approach around a single patented peptide OS-01, identified as Pep 14 in published research. The brand describes this peptide as linked to cellular senescence, aiming to influence how aging cells behave over time.

In terms of offerings, Alitura organizes its lineup across skincare, fragrance, body care, and travel essentials categories. A few signature offerings in its catalog include Gold Serum, Pearl Cleanser, Night Cream, and Santal Black Hair & Body Oil, along with travel kits and tools such as a 600-titanium microneedle derma roller.

Meanwhile, OneSkin keeps its lineup narrow and repeats the same core peptide across most products, creating a more uniform structure across categories. Its lineup is organized across lip, hair, face, body, sunscreen, and sets. Some featured offerings in its lineup include the Prep Cleanser, OS-01 Face Moisturizer, Hair Scalp Serum, and OS-01 Lip Mask.

Pricing structure reflects another point of difference between the brands. Alitura generally stays in a mid-premium range, with singular products typically priced at around $50 and $90, while kits and bundled sets may range from $200 to $350, depending on the selection. Meanwhile, OneSkin sits at a higher price level, where products like the OS-01 Face Moisturizer start near $100, and the Eye Cream is close to $93, while bundles can go above $400.

Pros

  • Focuses on skin longevity science.
  • Dermatologist-tested product formulations.
  • Uses a consistent set of ingredients across products.

Cons

  • Refund delays reported by some customers.
  • Lacks broader skincare category coverage.

How Did We Evaluate?

  1. Brand Credibility

In evaluating OneSkin, we considered its background, research-led formulation approach, and ratings across independent review forums.

On ThingTesting, the brand carries a 4.3 out of 5 score based on a limited number of reviews. Most users highlighted improved hydration, smoother skin texture, and visible improvements in blemishes with the use of the brand’s products. However, a few users described the results as gradual or less noticeable than expected. There are also occasional concerns around packaging performance and product variations.

Trustpilot provides the brand with a low 2.8 out of 5 score, pointing to issues beyond product performance. Review data indicates reported concerns around delayed or missing deliveries, lack of response from customer support, and dissatisfaction with subscription handling. These issues suggest gaps in operational reliability that affect the brand’s perception.

While the brand demonstrates some credibility through its scientific positioning and positive product-level feedback, mixed results and operational concerns limit its consistency.

  2. Real User Feedback

To evaluate One Skin, we looked at the real user experiences of the brand and its offerings across Reddit between 2025 and 2026. Feedback around the brand’s products indicates mixed responses.

Some users who used the brand’s face, eye, and body products for extended periods, including six months or longer, described no noticeable changes in fine lines, elasticity, or skin quality. A few users pointed out issues with product texture, including a slightly sticky or thin consistency, along with comments about an unusual smell and occasional pilling when layered with other skincare. Some users also experienced skin reactions such as breakouts or dryness, particularly with eye-area products.

However, a portion of feedback highlights gradual improvements with long-term and consistent use. Some users noted subtle reductions in fine lines, smoother texture, and improved brightness or firmness over periods of several months. However, even in these cases, the users described the outcomes as slow and moderate.

Our evaluation indicates that outcomes with the brand’s offerings vary widely, making expectations, consistency, and individual skin response essential factors in determining perceived effectiveness.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are OneSkin offerings suitable for acne-prone skin?
The brand states its product lines, such as OS-01 Face Moisturizer and Eye Cream, feature non-comedogenic ingredients and include niacinamide for oil balance and inflammation. However, universal compatibility for acne-prone skin is not guaranteed, implying that individual responses might vary.
  • Does OneSkin offer visible brightening or tone correction?
The brand claims to support radiance and tone in its 12-week OS-01 FACE study. It also offers targeted products with ingredients like azelaic acid, vitamin C, and alpha arbutin to target discoloration. However, results and timelines might vary.
  • Does OneSkin provide layering guidance?
Yes. The brand outlines AM/PM routines, such as cleansing with PREP, applying OS-01 EYE, and then using OS-01 FACE/BODY, followed by SPF in the morning. Guidance also covers combining products with actives (e.g., retinol) and allowing absorption between steps.

Conclusion

OneSkin reflects a focused skincare model built around its OS-01 peptide technology, with an emphasis on targeting cellular senescence rather than surface-level concerns. Reliance on a single peptide pathway means the brand’s offerings typically do not target concerns like acne, pigmentation, or rapid resurfacing.

To target other skincare needs, combining the brand’s products with more intensive actives is required, which often requires careful spacing and monitoring of skin tolerance to avoid irritation or barrier disruption. This may add complexity to your skincare routine.

When considering OneSkin, attention to gradual introduction and routine planning is important. Patch testing and sunscreen use remain important, especially when layering with exfoliating or retinoid-based products. Such considerations must be kept in mind before committing to the brand’s formulations.
