Stryx Review: Men’s Makeup, Grooming Essentials, and Everyday Skincare

Stryx Review

Stryx positions itself around simplifying men’s grooming routine through cosmetic and skincare products intended for everyday use. The brand emphasizes simplified application tools and skin-friendly makeup products across its catalog. Its offerings could help target common appearance concerns such as redness, dark circles, uneven skin tone, blemishes, razor irritation, and shine while keeping the routine subtle and beginner-friendly.

In this review, we will evaluate the brand’s core offerings, formulation approach, quality control standards, and real user experiences. We will also discuss the advantages and limitations of the brand.

About Stryx

Stryx claims to offer subtle grooming products intended to provide natural-looking coverage without creating a heavy or overly noticeable appearance. Its product lineup includes concealers, tinted moisturizers, anti-shine products, lip balms, brow and beard grooming products, pimple patches, and SPF moisturizers.

The brand also offers bundled grooming kits, such as The Essentials Kit and The Selfie Kit, which pair multiple products into simplified routines.

According to its official website, the brand works with cosmetic chemists and makeup artists during product formulation and emphasizes cruelty-free development standards across its catalog.

The brand claims that its products are formulated to avoid pore clogging and that some formulations contain ingredients commonly associated with acne-focused skincare, such as salicylic acid.

Stryx Offerings

  1. Concealer Tool

Concealer Tool could help blur visible skin concerns like acne marks, razor burn, redness, dark spots, and uneven tone with a natural-looking finish. It combines propylene glycol dibenzoate, which gives the concealer a smoother glide and softer feel during application. Mica is included to create a more natural skin-like appearance by subtly reflecting light, which can help soften the look of pores, blemishes, and uneven texture.

The makers have added titanium dioxide, which acts as both a white pigment and an opacity enhancer. It helps the concealer provide coverage while contributing to shade balance across different skin tones. Triethoxycaprylylsilane is used in the concealer tool to coat pigments and minerals so they spread more evenly across the skin and resist clumping during blending.

  2. Tinted Moisturizer

Tinted Moisturizer may reduce the appearance of redness, uneven tone, blemishes, and post-shave irritation while providing lightweight skin coverage. It includes niacinamide to help support a more balanced-looking complexion. It is known for its role in reducing the appearance of redness, dullness, and uneven skin tone while also helping support the skin barrier. Salicylic acid adds a blemish-focused component to the formula. It could help with acne management by clearing excess oil and reducing breakouts.

Centella asiatica extract contributes soothing properties like calming visible irritation or stressed-looking skin. The formulation also consists of titanium dioxide as a mineral pigment that helps create the tinted coverage effect while also improving opacity and tone-evening performance.

  3. Energizing Eye Tool

Energizing Eye Tool is formulated for the delicate under-eye area. The makers have added sodium hyaluronate, which helps attract and retain moisture to support smoother and more hydrated-looking skin. Aloe vera contributes lightweight hydration and may help calm dryness or irritation around the eyes.⁩

⁦The formula also includes peptides such as Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, which manages the appearance of fine lines, tired-looking skin, and skin firmness. These peptides support a smoother and more refreshed under-eye appearance over time.⁩

⁦Plankton Extract and Sea Water add marine-derived components that may help nourish and revitalize the skin while contributing to the lightweight serum texture. Combined with the cooling roller applicator, these ingredients are intended to support a more energized and less fatigued appearance around the eyes.⁩

  4. Advanced Lip Balm

Advanced Lip Balm helps keep lips moisturized and comfortable.  It contains castor seed oil, which helps soften lips and prevent hyperpigmentation while giving the balm a smooth glide during application. Grape seed oil contributes lightweight hydration and contains fatty acids that may help support the lip barrier without leaving a heavy residue.⁩

To provide further moisturizing and soothing properties, the makers have added sunflower seed oil, which can help reduce dryness and maintain smoother-feeling lips. Beeswax works as a protective barrier ingredient that helps lock in moisture and shield lips from environmental dryness, such as wind or cold weather.⁩ ⁦The formula also contains Polybutene that creates a smoother texture, improves spreadability, and helps the balm stay on the lips longer.

  5. Brow & Beard Gel Comb

Brow & Beard Gel Comb might help manage facial hair and eyebrows. It has bamboo extract for its conditioning properties and may help support smoother-looking hair texture while contributing to the lightweight feel of the gel.⁩ The gel also contains aloe vera that helps provide hydration and soothing support to the skin underneath the brows and beard area, which may be useful for reducing dryness or irritation caused by grooming. Alpenrose extract is included for its antioxidant and protective properties that may help support healthier-looking skin and hair.⁩

⁦Cucumber extract contributes a cooling and refreshing effect while helping hydrate and soften the skin and hair. The formula also contains propanediol, which could help maintain moisture, improve texture, and allow the gel to spread more evenly through facial hair and brows.

  6. Anti-Shine Tool

Stryx Anti-Shine Tool uses a lightweight powder-based formula designed to help reduce excess oil and minimize visible shine throughout the day. It contains talc, which may help create a smoother, more matte appearance on the skin while reducing greasy-looking areas commonly caused by sweat or excess sebum.⁩ Calcium carbonate is also included as part of the formulation that could help control shine and improve the texture of the powder, contributing to a softer and more even-looking finish on the skin. ⁦⁩

  7. Bronzing Gel

Bronzing Gel could help create a temporary bronzed appearance without a heavy or greasy feel. The gel contains butylene glycol, which potentially helps attract moisture to your skin while improving the glide and lightweight feel of the formula during application. It may help prevent the gel from feeling dry or patchy once blended into the skin.⁩ Carbomer is also used as a thickening and gel-forming agent that gives the product its smooth gel consistency and helps it spread evenly across the skin.⁩ ⁩

  8. Vitality Support Collagen/NAD+ Blend

As per the official site, the Vitality Support Collagen/NAD+ Blend supports skin appearance, mental focus, and physical wellness. It is positioned around visible skin support, joint and muscle maintenance, cognitive clarity, and vitality support.⁩

⁦The formula combines a collagen complex that includes multiple collagen types such as Type I, Type II, Type III, and Type IV.  These collagen sources support skin resilience, physical recovery, and connective tissue maintenance.⁩

⁦NAD+ is also included to support cellular energy production and metabolic activity. ⁦The blend also contains hyaluronic acid for its ability to aid in skin hydration. It contributes to skin hydration and may also support joint lubrication and comfort as part of broader connective tissue support.⁩

⁦Vitamin C is included both for its antioxidant properties and its role in collagen production. It supports the body’s natural collagen synthesis process while also contributing to immune system support and protection against oxidative stress.

Stryx Advantage

  1. Men’s Cosmetic Skincare Architecture

Stryx focuses on complexion correction, cosmetic skin coverage, and visible facial-appearance management. The company centers concerns such as redness, blemishes, acne scars, dark spots, razor burn, under-eye circles, oily skin, rosacea, uneven tone, and facial shine throughout its product-positioning strategy.

The lineup is organized around targeted appearance-management categories, including Concealer Tool, Tinted Moisturizer, Energizing Eye Tool, Anti-Shine Tool, Pimple Patches, and Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. It also organizes starter kits, problem-based bundles, and routine groupings around visible use cases. Shade-matching flows and simplified onboarding are intended to reduce friction, while the brand states that products are designed for quick finger application. You may find this useful if your primary goal is covering or managing visible facial concerns through a simpler cosmetic-grooming routine.

Stryx Limitation

  1. Constrained Shade Architecture

Stryx uses a very limited shade system built around a small group of adaptable tones like Light Cognac, Medium Mahogany, Dark Eclipse, and Deep Java. This structure appears across much of the brand’s lineup, including the Concealer Tool, Tinted Moisturizer, Energizing Eye Tool, and bundled kits like The Essentials Kit and The Shark Tank Kit. The smaller shade range limits undertone precision, broader skin-tone representation, and more advanced complexion matching across different products. You may find this limiting, especially if your concern is looking for products that give a fuller coverage, exact shade calibration, or a wider range of complexion options.

Pros

  • Features a specialized grooming lineup, including concealers, moisturizers, and lip balms.
  • Emphasizes a cruelty-free positioning across all product lines.
  • Offers free U.S. shipping on orders worth $35 or more.
  • Provides a 30-day refund policy on orders.

Cons

  • Provides minimal transparency regarding third-party testing practices.
  • Premium price positioning may reduce accessibility.

Stryx Alternatives

  1. War Paint

War Paint and Stryx differ in product scope, positioning, and how they frame product outcomes. As per its official site, War Paint is structured around accessible complexion-focused makeup and skincare-style grooming products, built around confidence and everyday usability. Stryx is positioned narrowly as a system designed specifically for men’s cosmetic tools, describing itself as a brand that builds skincare and makeup, with a stronger focus on correction and concealment.

War Paint offers a broader product catalog that combines complexion makeup, skincare, and grooming tools. Its range includes Skin Tint Natural Matte Finish Tinted Moisturizer, Skin Finish Anti Shine Prime, Skin Finish Pore Blur Primer, The Mattifier Oil Control Roller, and Fast Sun Bronzing Gel. It also includes concealer-focused products such as the Concealer Pen. These products are grouped into collections like Game Changer, Recharged, and The Detox, where kits typically contain products focused on concerns such as brightening, pore control, and oil management. Stryx has a more concentrated product structure centered on cosmetic tools, including Concealer Tool, Tinted Moisturizer, Energizing Eye Tool, Anti Shine Tool, Brow & Beard Gel Comb, and Bronzing Gel. It also includes grooming and skincare adjuncts such as Advanced Lip Balm, Pro Blending Wedge, and Microfiber Cleansing Disc, but with fewer product groupings compared to War Paint.

The pricing structure also shows a difference in positioning. War Paint generally sits at lower price points, with most products ranging between $11 and $17, such as The Mattifier at $11, primers at $14, Skin Tint at $17, and Fast Sun Bronzing Gel at $17. Kits and bundles are also relatively lower priced, including Daily Skin Duo at $17, Daily Bronze Duo at $18, and Recharged Duo at $21. Stryx is positioned at a higher price range, with Concealer Tool starting at $18, Tinted Moisturizer at $22.50, Energizing Eye Tool at $26.10, Anti Shine Tool at $29.70, and Bronzing Gel priced at $59.99. Its kits also extend higher in value, including The Essentials Kit from $41.40, The Shark Tank Kit discounted to $27.78, The Selfie Kit at $53.10, and The Perfect Skin Kit reaching $90.

The two brands also differ in product ecosystem breadth. War Paint remains focused on facial complexion products and grooming tools without expanding into non-cosmetic categories. Its catalog centers on primers, tints, concealers, bronzing gels, oil control products, and grooming options like brow and beard pencils. Stryx extends beyond cosmetics into grooming accessories and wellness-oriented products, including options like Pro Blending Wedge, Microfiber Cleansing Disc, and Collagen and NAD Plus Blend Capsules.

War Paint is structured around accessible complexion makeup and skincare-style grooming with a broad but relatively straightforward product range and lower pricing. Stryx is positioned around cosmetic tools for subtle skin correction, with higher pricing and a broader expansion into grooming accessories.

  2. Nunorm

NuNorm is built as a connected routine system where products work together across steps. Its core range includes Tinted Hydrator, Quick Cover, and Shine Eraser. These are supported by application tools such as the Okuni Brush and Vera Sponge. It also extends into grooming and enhancement products like Brow Rescue. Stryx, in comparison, is organized as a broader set of standalone products where each product targets a specific concern. Its range includes Concealer Tool, Tinted Moisturizer, Energizing Eye Tool, and Anti-Shine Tool.

A major difference appears in how personalization is handled. NuNorm uses an AI Shade Finder accessed through Find Your Shade and Try It On, where you are matched to tones digitally before purchase. This is supported by defined shade systems across products, including 10 shades for Tinted Hydrator and 17 shades for Quick Cover, which are intended to reduce mismatch between skin tone and product selection. Stryx relies on formulation design where products like Concealer Tool and Tinted Moisturizer use natural pigments intended to blend into skin through manual selection from available options.

NuNorm focuses on layered application using lightweight, buildable formulas designed to subtly even skin tone, reduce shine, and address concerns such as dark circles, uneven complexion, and patchy brows through gradual refinement across multiple products. Its Shine Eraser is designed to absorb oil and minimize pore appearance, while Tinted Hydrator provides hydration with a light tint, and Quick Cover offers buildable spot correction. Stryx focuses on visible skin concerns in simple steps. Concealer Tool is designed for acne, scars, redness, and discoloration, Tinted Moisturizer targets redness and breakout areas, and Energizing Eye Tool is designed for puffiness and tired under-eyes, with each product intended to be used independently, depending on the issue.

NuNorm is positioned around natural makeup for men with a focus on subtle enhancement, skin-tone adaptation, and a complete routine designed to address multiple concerns together through coordinated products. Meanwhile, Stryx focuses on functional grooming and skincare tools focused on quick correction and simplicity of use.

How Did We Evaluate?

  1. Real User Feedback

When evaluating Stryx, we examined real user feedback across Amazon for two of the brand’s core offerings to understand how they perform in everyday routines. The Stryx Concealer Stick Tool carries a 4.3 out of 5 rating, which is based on more than 450+ reviews. Many users said the concealer blended well with different complexions and helped reduce the appearance of dark spots, redness, pimples, and discoloration without looking overly noticeable. However, a few users expressed practical concerns around occasional cap or packaging issues during travel. Some users noted that the tool did not fully address concerns like visible puffiness under the eyes.

Brow & Beard Gel Comb currently holds a 4.1 out of 5 rating from 25+ reviews. Many users described the gel as lightweight, non-sticky, and suitable for creating a cleaner, more groomed appearance for eyebrows, mustaches, and shorter facial hair. Some users appreciated the comb-style applicator for supporting controlled grooming. However, some users noted concerns around its weak holding strength, especially for thicker beard hair, while others described the formula as too thin or watery for stronger styling needs.

Based on the available feedback patterns, we found that these Stryx products appear to perform more consistently in areas tied to convenience, lightweight wear, and natural-looking grooming. However, recurring concerns suggest that they may feel less suitable for heavier styling needs or more noticeable correction.

  2. Brand Credibility

To assess Stryx’s credibility, we reviewed the brand’s presence across established third-party consumer review and dispute platforms. The Better Business Bureau shows no active business profile, accreditation status, or complaint record connected to the brand. Likewise, Sitejabber contains no meaningful customer reviews, ratings, or operational feedback.

The brand maintains a still-developing reputation within the men’s grooming space. It shows signs of continued operations, product positioning, and retail presence, but its independent review history remains relatively narrow across major independent feedback platforms.

Conclusion

Stryx keeps its grooming and cosmetic lineup minimalistic, which may help you build a quicker and less complicated routine. However, it maintains a relatively limited shade range across products like concealers and tinted moisturizers, which could make undertone matching and deeper complexion compatibility feel restrictive. A lack of visible transparency around the brand’s third-party testing standards, formal dermatological evaluations, and allergen screening also remains an important point of consideration.

Some formulations from the brand may also create compatibility concerns depending on your skin sensitivity, oil production levels, or ingredient tolerance. Possible reactions may include redness, dryness, clogged pores, or stinging around sensitive areas. Carefully reviewing ingredient lists, shade charts, and skin sensitivity remains important, especially if you have sensitive skin, specific undertone requirements, or prior cosmetic compatibility concerns.
